-Is Master’s Commission only for those going into full-time ministry?
No! The first nine months of Master’s Commission is for ANY high school graduate interested in laying a solid spiritual foundation and learning life and leadership skills that will benefit their future personally and professionally.
-Who can become a part of the SCMC family?
+ Any student who has graduated from high school or obtained their GED. Most of our students range in age from 18 to 25.
+ Any student who has a desire to be trained and equipped for both life and ministry. There must be a willingness to be changed to the core of your being.
+ Those who have a financial plan for paying their tuition in full by the last available payment date.
-What does a typical SCMC week consist of?
First year: Daily prayer, Scripture Study, Valley Forge Christian College courses, Biblical Studies courses, Life Lessons, UpClose mentoring, student-led devotions, AC families, community outreach, guys’ and girls’ Cymbrogi, student life, and optional part-time jobs.
Second year: Daily prayer, Scripture Study, Valley Forge Christian College courses, Today’s Leader, Introduction to Youth Ministry, UpClose mentoring, AC families, community outreach, guys’ and girls’ Cymbrogi, SCMC portfolios, student life, and optional part-time jobs.

-What ministry opportunities can SCMC offer?
All students will have the opportunity to work with any number of ministries including youth, children, worship, special needs, prison ministry, crisis pregnancy, stateside missions, overseas missions, high school campus ministry, social services ministry, and more.
-When will the SCMC year begin and end?
Registration — August 23, 2008
Graduation — May 17, 2009
-How much does SCMC cost?
$1900 tuition

-Will students be able to work while at SCMC?
Yes! Students have the opportunity to work a part-time job on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and Fridays. Work schedules may vary, though, due to ministry trips and other SCMC responsibilities. Employers must understand the priority of your commitment to SCMC. The staff will strive to communicate changes well in advance.
-Is there a deadline for applying to SCMC?
No! We will accept applications for the upcoming year all the way up to the starting date. Acceptance, though, is based on a first come first serve basis, as there is a limited number of spaces available to accept students.
-How do I apply to SCMC?
Students can submit an online application at www.sc-mc.org; print and mail your application to SCMC Admissions, 2700 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC, 29210; or fax it to 803-798-0244. You can call 803-798-4488 for additional assistance (M-Th, 9-5), or email info@sc-mc.org.
A $25 application fee must accompany all applications, and both the Student Application and a Pastoral Reference must be submitted to the Co-Operational Director of Admissions before the application will be processed. |
